Public transport - which ticket should I choose?
As a tourist, it can be difficult to know which bus or train ticket to choose when exploring a destination and getting the most out of your stay. Below you'll find the most relevant ticket types as well as different payment options and travel apps.
Please note that you must buy your ticket in advance before taking the bus or Light Rail around Aarhus, as you cannot buy tickets on the Light Rail and city buses. We therefore recommend that you always buy your ticket in advance - also when travelling around the region.

Single ticket
A single ticket is the most expensive option. It can be a good choice if you don't travel very often.
If you travel more than four times in a month, consider the Rejsekort instead.
Pay with Klippekort or Rejsekort.
Multi-trip tickets
Clip cards can be cheapest in Aarhus due to the 2-hour (+15 min.) time validity. It depends on your travel pattern.
In Aarhus Municipality (zones 301-313), a voucher is valid for 2 hours and 15 minutes. 2 hours as normal tickets + 15 minutes because you need to activate the voucher before boarding.
Regional bus services in the Aarhus region are operated by Midttrafik. Find timetables in Rejseplanen (Journey Planner) or at midttrafik.dk, where you can also get traffic information (Danish) about current traffic conditions.

The Travel Card 'Rejsekortet' is generally the cheapest ticket when travelling by bus, train or metro, but there are several options when buying your ticket. Take a look below and find the one that suits you best.
