Winter activities at Museum Gammel Estrup
Visit Gammel Estrup during the school winter holidays (week 7) when Count Vinter moves in. When the big Christmas celebrations at the manor house were over on 6 January and all the many guests went home, the manor house was left dark and empty. The Count, Countess and some of the servants went on holiday in Copenhagen until winter was over. It is said that Count Winter then moved into the manor instead.
Activities for the whole family
Follow the children's trail with tasks around the house and visit the activity room in the basement where you can play and try different listening stations and digital activities. Try the manor playground in the garden and visit the manor kitchen, which is open and sells coffee and cake from the large wood-burning stove.
During week 7, all schools in Denmark are closed. This means that many families are on winter holidays, which means that every year there will be a lot of activities for children during this week.
This week there are extra activities at Gammel Estrup with a special focus on activities for children and families with children.
