The viewpoint Lysnet
Lysnet is Denmark’s ninth highest natural point with an elevation of all of 131 metres above sea level. On the very top, there is a vantage point from which you can take in the view of the horizon while surrounded by scenic valleys.
From the vantage point, you can see as far as to Lilleåen, which is one of the Gudenåen ramifications. Explore the various kinds of clay in the area, which were all created 45-55 million years ago.
Amazing Ice Age Landscape
Lysnet is a hill area just south of Randers, which has been classified as an Area of National Geological Interest. This moraine hill is formed by plastic clay which the ice pushed up during the Ice Age. A while back, clay was extracted in the area, which then in 1951 was classified as a protected area.
