Cycling Route from Randers to Silkeborg
Using cycle route 29, it is possible to cycle from Randers to Silkeborg and experience the beautiful colours of nature and the wings of history. The route is 56 kilometres long, so bring food and drink for the trip.
From Randers you drive to Langå along the Gudenåen, Denmark's longest watercourse and only river.
The beautiful nature doesn't stop after Langå, however, as the route from here to Silkeborg winds its way along a disused railway, passing forests, meadows, lakes and beautiful views.
Along the route, there are many exciting observations to make as you pass churches and through towns with old railway stations.
Historical relics
The route is a great nature experience where the mind can run free and enjoy beautiful forests and streams. Gjern Ådal in the centre of Gjern Bakker is especially worthy of a break.
Remnants of World War II make the route one of the more historically exciting cycling routes, as you can see remnants of bridges and other things that were given a loving treatment by the Danish saboteurs when crossing Gudenåen before Langå.
