Grenaa Beach
Grenaa Strand on the east coast of Jutland is known for its fine white sand and clear blue water. It is not without reason that the beach is often mentioned as one of Denmark's best. With calm water conditions, the beach is perfect for children, surfers, SUP enthusiasts and people with disabilities. Pack a picnic, bring your beach toy and enjoy a day of relaxation and cosiness by the water.
One of Denmark's best beaches
Grenaa Strand, located south of the town of Grenaa in Djursland, actually consists of two beaches, separated by the popular fishing spot Polderrevet, where you can catch garfish and trout. The beach was awarded the prestigious Blue Flag in 2024.
The beach closest to the harbour is surrounded by cosy holiday homes in the dunes and is ideal for families with children with its shallow water depth and soft, fine sand. In the summer you can enjoy the beach volleyball court and take part in a host of fun activities.
During the summer holidays there is a lifeguard tower with coastal lifeguards on the beach.
SUP adventures at Grenaa Beach
Grenaa Strand is not only known as one of Denmark's best beaches, but also as a perfect place for an unforgettable SUP experience, especially in the shallow water in the centre!

Looking for amber - or just a nice stroll
Further south, with great views towards Havknuden, you'll find the beautiful sandy beach, which is one of Denmark's best. Walk a few kilometres and you'll have the beautiful beach all to yourself. A beach walk like this is worth a visit all year round, and if you're lucky you might even find amber here.
