The old railway line between Funder near Silkeborg and Brande has now been transformed into a fantastic nature trail, perfect for hikers, cyclists and horse riders. The nature trail Den Skæve Bane begins in the scenic Funder Ådal, where the lush meadows and deciduous forests of East Jutland surround you.

As you move southwest on the trail, the landscape gradually changes to more sandy and barren areas, providing a varied nature experience. Along the route, you'll be able to see the view of Banedammen north of Hjøllund and at the end of August you'll be able to experience the flowering heather along the route.
With a length of 28 kilometres, Den Skæve Bane provides ample opportunity to explore the Jutland ridge up close, free from motor traffic. Whether you want to hike, cycle or ride, the trail offers tranquillity, scenic views and an authentic experience of the Jutland landscape. Along the way, you'll pass the beautiful Funder Ådal, Guldsted Plantage and several of Jutland's lush deciduous forests.
